Nothing Much...

My wonderful sister wanted an update...there isn't a whole lot going on right now. I'm thankful for that. Life is truly great! Brian and I are enjoying the weekend. We were kind of lazy today. Ben has started saying "yes" now instead of nodding. He's also saying "I'm so funny." We LOVE that. He is such a talker. It's crazy to be able to understand the things coming out of his little mouth. He says this word that sounds like "money" when he's upset or wants something. We haven't figured that one out yet. He is now sitting on the couch watching the Backyardigans (the moose on there really cannot sing). Here's hoping he'll be in bed in thirty minutes! Oh, and he peed in the potty tonight before his bath!! So there's an update on the little things in our lives right now. Love you, Em!!

Craziness!!

This last week was the craziest we've had in a LONG time. I had to go to South Carolina to place a child and Brian had his big art show at the Texas Reds Festival quickly approaching. Ben was able to spend a few days with Mimi and Papa (Thanks Sue and Tom!!) so Brian was able to work. He pulled several 20 hour days trying to get everything done. His hard work definitely paid off. He had a really good time at the festival and met a lot of local artists. He even sold a few pieces. People had these odd little wine glass koozies that hang around your neck. It was pretty funny. My mom and brother came with Ben and I. We had a yummy funnel cake but it was so hot we didn't stay long. Little Ben made sure we made a quick exit. :) So today we are recuperating after our crazy week. I hope this next one will be a bit slower.

Saturdays

Today has already been a productive day, in spite of the maniacal two year old whirlwind that is our little Ben. He's everywhere...and he's quick! I put all of his baby clothes in those space bags. I've been wanting to do it for awhile. Looking through all those tiny little outfits and onesies brought back so many memories...especially those when he was still and had never uttered the word "MINE." I found his Easter outfits, Christmas outfits, sleepers from Naomi's mom, burp clothes too nice to use from Mrs. Kathi. He even put on his skunk costume from Halloween. I was able to do all this while he was prying the plug protectors from the outlets or tipping over night tables, and wielding the vacuum extender like a sword. I need a nap!!

Summer Time

Brian is really enjoying his summer off. He likes down time but he really likes doing stuff around the house. So far this summer, he has finished off the attic floor for storage, installed ceiling fans, and built a shed for the back yard...And it's only the second week of June! He's sunburned but happy! Now he's working on his art for a festival he will be showing at called Texas Reds here in Bryan. Check out the website. http://texasredsfestival.com. He's nervous and excited. Haircut

Ben had his 2nd real hair cut. I actually took pictures this time. He did sooo well, until the lady brought out the clippers. He even sat by himself. Shaggy boy! Yes, I gave in and gave him his pacifier.

So Ben loves drawing with a pen. And Brian gets a kick out of Ben. Where does that lead?? Well, Ben now has a blue handle-bar mustache and Brian has random marks all over his face. Fun times!! Of course we took pictures. :) And of course there were tears when the pen was pried from his little hands!!
